True Detective’s Timothy V Murphy has revealed he is to become a father for the first time at the age of 55.
The Kerry native admitted he is expecting his first child with his girlfriend, Caitlin Manley.
“I have a steady woman now, which is good, and we’re having a child in a couple of weeks,” he said.

“I’m a bit of a late starter alright, but sure better late than never though.
“I’ve got a young woman so she can do all the running around – she’s 32,” he told Brendan O’Connor on RTE Radio 1.
She’s Boston Irish, so they’re quite similar to us and she’s got a good sense of humour.”

Currently filming a TV series in Wales, Timothy revealed he’ll be going back to the States for the birth.
“I’ll be filming this for the next three months and I’ll be heading home for a week to be with Caitlin,” he added.
The Hollywood star is currently starring in the second series of True Detective alongside Colin Farrell.
