Gerry Ryan passed away eight years ago today, and friends and former colleagues of the RTÉ star have taken to social media to pay tribute to him.

The legendary broadcaster died suddenly on April 30th, 2010, at the age of 53.

Now eight years later, friends and fans of the RTÉ 2fm host still aren’t over his passing, and have posted some touching tributes to him, including his close pal Dave Fanning.

Gerry was found dead at his apartment at Upper Leeson Street in Dublin on April 30th, 2010.

The inquest into Gerry’s death heard that traces of cocaine found in his system were the likely trigger for a cardiac arrhythmia, that resulted in his death.

Gerry married Morah Brennan in 1988, and they had five children together; Lottie, Rex, Bonnie, Elliott and Babette.

Gerry and Morah split in March 2008.
