Sky News reporter Richard Suchet has finally apologised for saying the UK could claim Saoirse Ronan as their own.
The British presenter heavily defended his comments saying Irish people should have seen it as a ‘compliment’ angering fans even more.
But ahead of the Golden Globes Richard took to Twitter to apologise for his comments.
“On Saoirse, I apologise. It came out wrong,” he wrote.
“I know the UK can’t claim her, of course. But the British would love to see her win for Ireland.
