Saoirse Ronan has weighed in on Jennifer Lawrence’s wage equality debate.
Speaking to Goss.ie at the premiere of her film Brooklyn, the Carlow beauty admitted she sides with the Oscar winner – who penned an open letter condemning the wage gap in Hollywood between men and women.
“Of course I am, I don’t think you couldn’t be,” she said.

“It’s about respect, that sense of respect whether that reflects the money you’re earning or whatever else.
“It’s important for people like her who are as well known as they are, who are as influential as they are over executives,” she told Goss.ie.
“You know she is the type of person that will finance a film and for her to find out all that stuff and speak out against it, is incredible.

“It’s very brave and hopefully it will force them to change.”
Starring in the film adaptation of Colm ToÃbÃn’s acclaimed novel, the 21-year-old couldn’t contain her excitement bringing the movie home to Ireland.
“I’m going to cry. I am a bit, all my pals and family are here, it’s amazing,” she beamed.
