RTE weather star Audrey McGrath has revealed she’s throwing a cold front over the idea of an Italian wedding.
Instead, the TV presenter is going against the celebrity trend by hosting their big day in Lough Rinn Castle in Co Leitrim.
The 34-year-old got engaged to long-term boyfriend Kevin O’Connor last December and after a major scouting trip of Italy believes being at home will make it extra special.

She said: “It didn’t really knit together the way we wanted it to knit together.
“One of the major factors is that over in Italy, as part of their culture I suppose, they tend to curb it all at midnight whereas I really wanted to be able to have a party.
“Also I want to be able to organise it and I want to be able to put my personal stamp on it. It’s your special day and you want it to have all of the trappings of ‘Audrey and Kevin’.

“You want it to have all of those extra bits that you kind of say you know whose wedding this is so that was another big reason.”
But Audrey told the Herald she is yet to find her perfect dress.
She added: “I’m still waiting for that [wow] moment, I haven’t had it yet.”
