Roz Purcell says she’s HAPPY that Instagram will start ‘hiding’ people’s likes

Roz Purcell has revealed she is happy with the news Instagram will soon hide the amount of likes a post will get.

Rumours have been rife that the social media giant were making the move, which could see influencers lose out on showing off their popularity – as now only the user themselves will see how many likes their post got.

Taking to Instagram Roz said she thought it was about time people stopped valuing themselves based on likes.

“After the F8 developer conference Instagram said they will start testing out a new way we see Instagram and I for one think it would make this place a far better one,” Roz wrote.

“The idea is to hide users likes on content from the public( so only the person posting can see they’re engagement).

“I get so many messages off young girls who see Instagram as a measure of their worth and a place of comparison on every level particularly popularity.

“They hope it will get users to start posting more real and enjoyable content rather than posting things they think people will engage with,” she added.

Roz herself uses Instagram to promote body positive messages – including sharing photos of her stretch marks to help other women embrace their hang ups.
