Ronan Keating has revealed that if he hadn’t become a pop star with Boyzone – he would have become a sports star instead.
The Dublin native divulged that he’s really a frustrated athlete despite all of his music success and was on his way to a sports career before the pop world came calling.
“I was an athlete when I was younger as was my older brother,” he said.

“So he went to America on a scholarship, he was a 400 meter runner and he was running for Ireland.”
“I was kind of going the same way – I was a 200 metre national title holder when I was 13, 14 years of age.”
However, Ronan’s plan of becoming a track star was sidelined when he decided to join a school band and hit the big time with Boyzone at just 16.
