Nicole O’Brien has opened up about her split from her Too Hot To Handle co-star Bryce Hirschberg.
The former couple found love after meeting on the hit Netflix dating show, but struggled to make things work after the coronavirus pandemic hit.
The London-based Cork native admitted that doing a long-distance relationship with Bryce, who lives in the United States, was challenging during the lockdown.
“Bryce and I were seeing each other and trying to work on long distance and then Covid hit, which was not the ideal situation when you’re trying to work on that,” she told The Sun.
“I had three flights booked throughout summer to see him and he was meant to come over but we just left things.
“We thought, let’s be realistic, we won’t see each other for at least a year but we’re still in contact. I’d still class him as one of my good friends.
“We got on so well, we’re very similar in interests and he’s such a gentleman, he’s so lovely,” she added.
“Usually American humour isn’t my type but he was my type the more I got to know him. We’re still talking away but we’re leaving it for now and we’ll see what happens next year when the world opens up again.”
The 23-year-old admitted she found being single in lockdown challenging: “I haven’t been on a date in a while because of lockdown.
“You do the FaceTimes etc and then you go for a socially distanced drink but it’s not the same, it’s s***e.”
