Miss Galway Pamela Uba crowned Miss Ireland 2021

The Miss Ireland 2021 ceremony took place at the Lakeside Manor Hotel in Cavan on Sunday Night.

There were 30 contestants in the running for the Miss Ireland title.

It was Miss Galway Pamela Uba who took the crown on the night.

The medical scientist worked on the frontline during the pandemic in University Hospital Galway, and has just completed her Masters education in Clinical Chemistry in Trinity College.

The 25-year-old stunned in a gorgeous sparkling gown as she was crowned the winner.

Speaking on Pamela’s win, director of Miss Ireland Brendan Marc Scully said: “Pamela was a joy from the very start and put her heart and soul into her Miss Ireland journey. She won the most amount of Miss Ireland challenges and came first in the debating challenge as well as the sports challenge.”

“She was also outstanding in the talent challenge, and the charity challenge. I am so delighted she will represent Ireland this year and I think she has a very bright future ahead.”

Pamela will compete in the Miss World competition in December.

Caoimhe Gibney, Miss Meath was first runner up in the Miss Ireland competition, while Miss Cork Zoe Hendrick was second runner up.

The 30 finalists were put through their paces over the last three months – testing their skills in debating, public speaking, talent, sports, modelling, social media.

Each finalist was also tasked with raising much-needed awareness and funds for their chosen charities.
