Maura Higgins has joined Love Island USA for the summer.
After dropping Love Island related hints on social media, the 32-year-old has confirmed her return to the famous franchise – but she won’t be entering the villa as a bombshell.
The Longford native will be taking over the social channels for the series, which airs on Peacock in America.
The show announced the exciting news on Instagram by sharing a photo of Maura, alongside the caption: “This just in… @maurahiggins will be your social ambassador this season bringing (sneaking) you the BTS scoop all summer!”
American fans were delighted by the news, and branded her a “Love Island legend” in the comment section.
Iain Stirling, who does the voiceover for the UK and US version of Love Island, also commented: “Welcome to the team.”
Maura hinted at her return to Love Island earlier this week.
The 32-year-old took to her Instagram Stories to tell her followers that she’d be taking a break from London for a while.
Then on Wednesday, Maura shared a photo of two men waiting to pick people up from the airport.
They were holding signs which read: “Got a text” and featured the easily-identifiable Love Island logo.
Back in May, Maura also shared snap from inside the ITV America offices, which are based in Hollywood.
Although she didn’t caption the photo, the Longford native tagged her locations as ITV Studios America.
The 32-year-old rocketed to fame after appearing on Love Island 2019.
Maura placed third on the hit dating show alongside her then-beau Curtis Pritchard.
