Love/Hate star Ruth Negga has admitted things weren’t easy growing up.
The Dublin has spoken about her mixed-race background and admitted she felt like she “never really fitted anywhere”.
Ruth has already carved out a career for herself in the U.S., landing roles in World War Z and Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, but said childhood wasn’t easy.
“Partly my feelings of difference were down to having parents of different races,” she told the Guardian.

“I had quite a scattered childhood. I was Irish in London, because I had my secondary school education there. I never really fitted anywhere.
“I didn’t feel it was a negative thing and I was never made to feel different – I just knew I was,” she explained.
As well as starring in upcoming movie Iona, a dark film following a woman’s escape after enduring violence, Ruth has also wrapped filming for AMC’s series Preacher, which she filmed alongside her boyfriend Dominic Cooper.
