Liam Neeson defends some Hollywood stars accused of sexual harrasment: ‘It’s a bit of a witch hunt’

Liam Neeson has revealed he believes some of the Hollywood stars accused of sexual harassment are just victims of a “witch hunt”.

Speaking on the Late Late Show, the Taken star said that he felt some men in Hollywood were wrongfully being dropped from movies and shows, although he believed the Harvey Wesintein scandal was too much.

When asked by Ryan Tubridy if he was happy about the #MeToo movement happening in Hollywood, where more and more women are coming out to reveal they were sexually abused by men in positions of power, Liam said:

“There is a bit of a witch hunt happening too.”

“Some people being suddenly accused of touching some girl’s knee or something and suddenly they’re being dropped from their programme or something,” he said.

When asked about Harvey Weinstein, Liam agreed that his actions were terrible, but when asked about Dustin Hoffman, who was accused of groping women.

“When you’re doing a play, and you’re with your family, you do silly things. It becomes superstitious. You don’t do it every night.

I think Dustin Hoffman was…I’m not saying I’ve done similar things, like what he did, apparently he touched a woman’s breast…it’s child hood stuff what he was accused of doing.”

It comes after Liam told Goss.ie a “revolution” was happening all around the world regarding gender and the gender pay gap.
