Kathryn Thomas on career troubles: 'I spent years worrying where the next job would come from'

Kathryn Thomas has opened up about her struggles trying to survive in the tough world of TV.

The Voice of Ireland presenter may have a successful career now – but she was constantly worried in her early career about when her next gig would come along.

“Without doubt, the land of TV is a fickle business,” she said.

“I spent years never knowing where or when my next job would come from.”

Kathryn has since moved on from worrying and just does the best job she can.

“I don’t let it bother me anymore. You can’t – it would drive you mental! Now I come away from every job asking myself if I did the best job possible,” she wrote in her Star coloumn.

Meanwhile, the TV presenter is delighted to be returning for another season of The Voice of Ireland next year.

“I am delighted for the whole team. They work really hard on putting out the best family entertainment show possible.”

I haven’t heard yet which of the coaches will deposit their rears in the spinning red chairs, but I thought the dynamic this year between Bressie, Kian, Una and Rachel was brilliant.”
