Jamie Dornan talks sex scenes and nudity in Hollywood

Jamie Dornan has opened up about sex scenes, nudity and feeling sexualised in Hollywood.

The Fifty Shades of Grey star admitted in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that he thought it was “unfair” that women are more inclined to be made strip for a role – but revealed that there’s plenty of male nudity in the film industry too.

“I do think it’s unfair. I understand why women have an issue with that. I know it’s something that a lot of people have an opinion on.

“But there’s plenty of male genitalia on show. Orlando Bloom did it today without even needing to,” he said, referring to THOSE nude photos of Orlando Bloom that were published.

“But I understand why. There’s more of an active taste for women to take their clothes off and be seen as a sex object. That can be gratuitous and I don’t agree with that,” he told Vanity Fair.

The 34-year-old also revealed that he’s often felt sexualised at work, and said that “it’s not just the women”.

“I feel very subjective a lot of the time at work. So I wouldn’t say I’m relatively not objectified in the work place. I am. It’s not just the women, but men too.”

Coy: Jamie remained tight-lipped on whether he’d go full frontal for Fifty Shades Darker

When asked if he would, in fact, be going full frontal in Fifty Shades Darker, as requested by Dakota Johnson – Jamie remained coy.

“I can’t even remember. It was so long ago. Two weeks ago we finished,” he said.

On the topic of Fifty Shades, Jamie admitted that sex scenes are one of the most challenging parts of his job.

“Sex scenes are hard because you’re simulating sex, and that’s a very strange way to spend the day,” he added.
