While everyone was celebrating Rory McIlroy’s win at the British Open yesterday, his former love Caroline Wozniaki was celebrating too.
Golfer Rory won his first British Open by two shots while former world No.1 Wozniacki made took the Istanbul Cup, her first tour win since October.
It seems that their break up in May has helped the two sports stars flourish in their careers.
The triumphs come after Caroline took a sly dig at Rory, by saying she could finally wear heels now that they are broken up.
After winning yesterday Rory said he was delighted to win after a tough year and a half:
“I’ve come a long way in the past 18 months, a lot’s happened to me, on and off the golf course. Just my determination and hard work has now really paid off.”
“It feels incredible. It wasn’t easy – there were a few guys making runs at me and I just needed to stay focused. To win three legs of the Grand Slam at 25 is a pretty big achievement,” he said.
