Irish fashion designer receives huge boost from Beyoncé

Irish fashion designer Michael Stewart has received a huge boost from Beyoncé.

The Clare native launched his Standing Ground label in 2021, which has since attracted the attention of huge celebrities.

The latest star to model one of his pieces is none other than Beyoncé, who wore his draped blue gown with matching gloves for ESSENCE magazine’s March/April cover.

The legendary singer was styled by Shiona Turini for the shoot.

This isn’t the first major celebrity to wear one of Michael’s designs, as his star-studded list of clients includes Naomi Campbell, Florence Pugh, Salma Hayek, and Christina Aguilera.

Supermodel Imaan Hammam also wore one of his gowns to the Met Gala last year.

The 34-year-old previously graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design, and officially launched his brand Standing Ground at London Fashion Week in September 2022.
