Good news for fans of RTÉ’s gangland drama Kin

Thommas Kane Byrne has shared good news for fans of RTÉ’s new gangland drama Kin.

The actor played Fudge in the new series, which follows the lives of a fictional Dublin family embroiled in a gangland war.

Speaking at an RTÉ roundtable event ahead of Sunday night’s episode, the Dublin native teased there would be many more seasons of the show, saying: “It’s going to run and run and run, of course it is.”

Thommas’ character was killed during the latest episode of the show, and the actor admitted he was sad he wouldn’t be able to return for future seasons.

He said: “Obviously I’d love to do season two. I know it sounds cliché, I’m just delighted for everyone involved. I really do I hope it runs and runs and runs because it really is a good show.”

“I have a good feeling about it. I think there is going to be a legacy in a few years, and Kin will probably always follow me.”

Kin airs on RTÉ One Sundays at 9.30pm.
