George Hook has a cameo in new RTÉ comedy show

The former news talk presenter is making his cameo in new RTÉ comedy series

Former Newstalk presenter George Hook will star in a new comedy series for RTÉ2, written by and starring comedian Alison Spittle.

The broadcaster recently stepped down from his lunchtime slot on Newstalk in September following his controversial comments about rape.

Alison Spittle plays Angela, a young woman who returns to her home town when her media career at a Dublin radio station doesn’t quite work out.

Alison told TV Now magazine, “George Hook was also very good. He was very nice. I used to work with him a lot on his radio show.”

“I used to go in the evenings, waffle on and talk about nothing! We get on so well and he was so good to come out and do it.”

Other stars featured in the six part series are Republic of telly star Kevin McGahern, Moone Boy’s Clare Monnelly and Genevieve Hulme Beaman.
