Fans have taken to their social media to react to Jason Smyth’s win on RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars.
The 2-hour long final was held on Sunday, March 17 and saw the Paralympian and his partner Karen Byrne bring home the Glitterball trophy.
Jason battled it out against David Whelan, Laura Fox and Blu Hydrangea, competing two dances each.
Viewers of the show have since taken to X to share their thoughts on last’s night’s finale and winner.
One viewer wrote: “Congratulations to Karen Byrne and Jason winning the dancing of the stars 2024 . Well deserved @DWTSIRL💃 🕺 🏆 ”
Another penned: “Well done Jason and Karen. Your journey together was an inspiration Facing what life offers with courage and determination #DWTSIRL”
Fans praised Jason, who is visually impaired, on his win.

During the final, fans saw previous DWTS contestants return to compete in a show-stopping number alongside Riverdance.
Marty Morrisey, Ryan Andrews, Ellen Keane, Suzanne Jackson and Lottie Ryan all returned to the ballroom for the magnificent performance.

Speaking about his win, Jason said: “I feel incredible, it’s about showing what’s possible and I really hope that that’s what I’ve done through this journey, maybe just two people to thank my wife, sat over there, who’s put in a put in a huge amount of sacrifice.”
“It wouldn’t have happened without her. And this lady beside me, (Karen).”
