David Whelan has revealed who his biggest competition is on RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars.
The musician is currently paired up with professional dancer Salome Chachua for the show’s latest series.
Speaking to Goss.ie at the Gossies 2024, the Wild Youth singer opened up about his experience on the hit show.

David initially joked “nobody” before he admitted that “everybody’s after growing so quickly in there.”
He continued: “Compared to Week 1 to now, everyone’s after coming along so big… it’s anyone’s game.”
Speaking about what it has been like working outside of Wild Youth, the lead singer revealed: “It’s actually been so refreshing, music is all I’ve ever done my whole entire life, from start to finish, eight years we haven’t stopped.”

He continued: “And all I thought about was music, music, music and now I haven’t thought of music once, I haven’t written a song in the past year, I’ve just been doing this.”
He added: “I feel so energised again, because my artistry has gone from something else that isn’t songwriting or singing.”
