‘Creepy’ Harvey Weinstein made Laura Whitmore feel ‘incredibly uncomfortable’

The Hollywood producer showed a huge interest in Laura

Over the past week, a number of high-profile celebrities have come forward with horrific stories about disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein – and now it looks like Irish presenter Laura Whitmore was targeted too.

The disgraced Hollywood producer was fired from the company he co-founded late last week, after several women made allegations of sexual misconduct against him, which were published in The New York Times.

And now, it’s been reported that Irish TV star Laura was made feel “incredibly uncomfortable” by Harvey, who allegedly offered to boost her career.

A friend told The Sun, “For a while Harvey showed a huge interest in Laura, and was offering to really champion her career.”

“He was so powerful that she knew it could be a huge step forwards for her. But after meeting him she couldn’t allow herself to be taken advantage of.

“She told her friends how creepy he was, and he’d ask her to meet with him to discuss potential projects. But then he’d suggest going out on dates together and going to the theatre.

“It was all totally unprofessional. He even asked her whether she had a boyfriend and it made her incredibly uncomfortable.”

“She turned him down and walked away. But after all this came out, she says she can totally understand why other young women found themselves in very vulnerable positions because he had so much influence.

“She’s so glad she escaped him and just thinks he’s a horrible, horrible man,” they added.

In February 2013, Laura attended an exclusive pre-BAFTAs dinner party in London, which was hosted by The Weinstein Company.

At the time, it was reported that the presenter was spotted looking cosy with Oscar-nominated actor Bradley Cooper at the bash.

The Bray native was said to be in “deep conversation” with the US actor, and the pair reportedly swapped numbers.
