Conor McGregor’s third bout against Dustin Poirier confirmed by UFC

Conor McGregor’s third bout against Dustin Poirier has been confirmed.

The Crumlin native will go up against his featherweight rival for the third time on July 10, 2021 at UFC 264 in Las Vegas.

UFC president Dana White announced the news this afternoon, telling fans: “I am so happy to finally be able to say Vegas is back.”

“This summer, Las Vegas is back open for business. And on July 10, UFC 264 will be at the T-Mobile Arena here in Vegas at 100 per cent capacity.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, that’s 20,000 fans. And this card will be headlined by the third fight between Dustin Porier and Conor McGregor.”

“July 10, UFC 264, T-Mobile Arena here in Las Vegas. Finally, Vegas is open again. And you know you’ve been wanting a badass weekend in Vegas.”

Back in January, the 32-year-old lost to Dustin at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi, and admitted he was “gutted” over the loss.

Speaking directly after the fight, Conor said: “Dustin is some fighter. I have to dust it off and come back and that is what I will do.”

“I’m gutted to be honest… I put so much work in. It’s a tough one to swallow. But we’ll get to go again and that’s it.”

Their fight in January 2021 was a rematch of their featherweight bout at UFC 178 six years ago, when Conor knocked Dustin out in the first two minutes.
