Conor McGregor has pulled out of a planned appearance on Saturday’s Jonathan Ross Show.

The famous fighter was set to record the interview on Wednesday night, and it would have been his first major TV appearance in the UK – however, he cancelled last minute due to a mystery illness.

The 29-year-old was set to appear on the show alongside Tina Turner, Clare Balding, and Andrew Garfield.

According to the Irish Sun, a show spokeswoman said, “McGregor was due to appear on this week’s show but couldn’t make the recording due to illness.”

They also confirmed that his appearance has not been rescheduled for a later date.

Conor was supposed to appear on the show to chat about his new film, Notorious, which is set for release on November 1.

Despite his illness, Conor is expected to make an appearance at the Dublin premiere of Notorious on Wednesday.

Conor is also set to appear on The Late Late Show next week, and RTÉ are looking for people to be in the audience for his interview, which will be pre-recorded on October 31.

RTÉ said, “If you are available from on Tuesday (daytime) and would like to join us in RTÉ studios please email [email protected] for the application (Subject title: Notorious).

“Times TO BE CONFIRMED. This is a DAYTIME event. All audience members must be over 18. Those who are lucky enough to secure tickets will be emailed with full details including confirmed time of recording.”

The news comes as the UFC star was slammed for using the homophobic term “f****t”.

Conor was caught on camera using the word “f****t” when talking to UFC fighter Artem Lobov – and the father-of-one has been quiet on social media ever since, and has not yet commented on the incident.
