Colin Farrell has revealed that he quit smoking by writing ‘The Spirit of Tobacco’ a break up letter.
The Irish actor admitted he successfully kicked his nicotine habit for two years after penning the letter.
“I wrote a breakup letter to the Spirit of Tobacco. I got a frying pan and tossed the letter with a load of tobacco, put some paraffin over it,” he said.

“Lit a match that sent a big, wallowing cloud up into the sky. Then I didn’t have a cigarette for another two years.”
Meanwhile, the father of two opens up about his love life.
“It’s not that I don’t get lonely sometimes, but I’m okay about it,” he told Men’s Health.
The former ladies man is focused on raising his two boys.

“When you get home, the only thing that matters is your son is not eating his turkey sandwiches and he’s not into avocado anymore, so you have to find something new that he’ll eat for lunch.”
The Hollywood star has been kept busy after his successful role in the hit US show True Detective and has landed a leading role in the upcoming movie Solace alongside Antony Hopkins.
