Chris O’Dowd has revealed that he doesn’t like roles where he has to kill people or use guns.
The Roscommon actor also revealed that because he’s atheist he finds it difficult to do religious roles.
“I’m an atheist so I find it hard to do roles where I feel god is triumphant. And I’m a pacifist so I find it hard to do roles where I have to kill people or use guns free and easy.”

The aspect of killing people for sport with guns doesn’t appeal to Chris when he is picking his roles.
Speaking to Maeve Higgins on her Maeve in America podcast, the Bridesmaids actor said, “The only power an actor has is to say no.
“So I just don’t do the role if I feel like it’s going to be something where I’m killing people willy nilly.”
The actor is currently expecting his second child with wife Dawn O’Porter.
