Brendan Courtney has announced that his father Frank has sadly passed away.
Frank died peacefully at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross.
Brendan’s father had been receiving palliative care in the hospice after he was left paralysed on the left side of his body after suffering two strokes.
The TV star announced the devastating news on Twitter.

“It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Dad Frank. He passed away peacefully this morning,” Brendan wrote.
Brendan previously received huge praise after his documentary We Need To Talk About Dad aired on RTÉ.
The documentary followed Brendan’s family as they rallied around his father Frank, and started a conversation about Ireland’s health service.
