Boyzone’s Keith Duffy says it’s ‘unfortunate’ that Westlife haven’t brought Brian McFadden back for their reunion

Boyzone’s Keith Duffy has said that it’s “unfortunate’ that Westlife didn’t bring Brian McFadden back for their reunion.

There was a lot of speculation surrounding the possibility that the singer would join the boyband for their comeback, but the foursome have made it very clear that this won’t be happening.

Speaking at a press conference in The Intercontinental Hotel on Tuesday, Mark Feehily said: “I don’t think we feel that anyone is missing. That’s not in any bad way, that’s just what Westlife is to us.”

Boyzone’s Keith Duffy has since come out and told The Daily Mirror: “I think it would have been a great thing for Brian to go back.”

“I think it would have shown great solidarity and great wisdom so I think it is unfortunate the boys decided not to go forward with Brian,” he told the publication.

The 44-year-old also claimed that Boyzone put in a lot more work than Westlife, to make themselves successful: “So they were put on the big stage and didn’t have to do the work Boyzone did. But we happily paved the way for bands coming after us.”

“I said Westlife’s career started as Boyzone’s support act. There was no dig, that’s just fact.”

“It took us a long time to earn our place in the business. Then Westlife were put together by Louis [Walsh] and were given the support slot on an arena tour,” the father-of-two said.

Keith is clearly a good friend of Brian’s, as the pair joined together in recent years to embark on a music journey based on the two boybands, called ‘Boyzlife’.
