Major stars turned out to celebrate The Pogues frontman at the National Concert Hall

Bono paid tribute to The Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan during Shane MacGowan’s 60th birthday celebrations at the National Concert Hall last night.

Yesterday, the world was shocked and saddened by the news that Dolores had passed away suddenly in London.

The star-studded event was held to celebrate The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan – but U2’s lead singer Bono made sure to pay tribute to Dolores during his time on stage.

Bono performed Down All The Days alongside Johnny Depp, and at the end, Bono recited the lyrics of one of The Cranberries most famous songs Linger, in tribute to Dolores.
