Love/Hate’s Aoibhinn McGinnity has revealed the secret of her best ever body – taking to the stage.
The Monaghan actress has never looked better, and puts it down to playing Jovie in Elf: The Musical.
The 28-year-old admits taking to the stage each day in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre was one of the most gruelling fitness regimes she’s ever had to do.

She said: “It’s really nice to get back into being outside in daylight again because when you’re in a show like that you end up sleeping during the day and being in the theatre in the evening.
“It was all go alright but that’s always a good thing, energy makes more energy and when you’re not do- ing as much you’re more tired I think.
“Two shows a day was a massive stamina-building exercise. I remember when we were doing two shows a day plus a rehearsal, it was nothing like I’d ever done before – it was tough going.

“I know now the next time I do something like Elf, I’ll be more prepared with my vitamins and stuff because it’s non-stop.
“It was quite intense, but I was really privileged to be in it and it’s an experience that I’ll never forget.”
Now Aoibhinn told the Herald she has a few weeks off – before Elf: The Musical could head to the West End in London.
But she added: “I never know far in advance what I’m doing, which is why this job is so exciting.”
