Amanda Brunker: 'I was DEVASTATED when I won Miss Ireland – I only did it to make money'

TV personality Amanda Brunker has revealed that she was furious when she was crowned Miss Ireland, as she was hoping to make money in other beauty pageants.

The author admitted she wanted to go for the Rose of Tralee among other competitions, as she only entered pageants to make some cash.

“I would of loved to (enter the Rose of Tralee) everyone said I was more of a Rose of Tralee then a Miss Ireland because I came after the gorgeous Siobhan McClafferty (a former Miss Ireland).”

Talking to Jenny Greene on 2FM, the Celebrity Apprentice star revealed she only took part in beauty pageants to earn money.

“I actually did loads of beauty competitions because it was a way of making money 100 years ago.”

“I was actually devastated when I won the Miss Ireland because I had three more competitions lined up which I was told I would win if I entered,” she explained.

Promoting her new TV3 show Danger! Amanda At Work, the TV star added that she went on to make less money after being crowned Miss Ireland.

“It was a great way of making money, and I actually made less in Miss Ireland” she revealed.
