TV presenter Alan Hughes’ hubby Karl Broderick has opened up about his terrifying tumble in Austria.
The showbiz couple are currently in Vienna for this week’s Eurovision when the songwriter slipped down a flight of wet concrete steps and was rushed to hospital for 10 x-rays.
“So relieved. .. first time since last night I’m almost out of pain,” he said.

“We Irish obviously need way more painkillers than our Austrian friends…I’m not a medicine kinda guy..but my neck and back pain earlier was like having the worst toothache,” he wrote on Facebook.
“I feel for anyone who’s in constant pain….. So its gonna be room service in our hotel room and no Eurovision fun for me tonight.
“But im determined to go 2morro nite, if I have to get a little motorchair,” he added.
Sharing a snap of himself online exiting the stadium on a stretcher, Karl captioned the pic “What an exit” revealing he’s recovering from whiplash and a concussion.
