Actor Alan Cumming has commented on Leo Varadkar’s recent election win, by saying, how “wonderful” it is that Ireland now has a gay Taoiseach.
The Good Wife star is in Ireland promoting his new book full of stories and photography called You Gotta Get Bigger Dreams.
He also touched on the subject of the American leader Donald Trump, “Right now Trump is so vulnerable and scared. If pouncing on the gays would make him more popular he will do that.
“By the way how wonderful is it you have a gay Taoiseach as of tonight,” he said.

Independent.ie reported that The Spy Kids star was speaking at the annual Kerry festival Listowel Writers’ Week.
The 52-year-old is originally from Wales, but now lives in New York with his husband Grant.
Alan said he took inspiration from Irish author Colm Toibin during his trip to Ireland.
“I went to a talk yesterday with Colm Toibin and he made a really good point. He said ‘always finish everything’. I’ve taken that to heart. I have a computer full of half finished things that I’m determined to get done now.”
