Saoirse Ronan’s Broadway show The Crucible has raked in almost €500,000 ahead of its official opening.
According to The Herald, the first six previews of the show which begins on March 31 generated sales of just under half a million.
The show has been credited with boosting Broadway sales after a slow run during the Winter months.

The Crucible is based on the Salem Witch trials of 1692.
Saoirse portrays the play’s villain, Abigail Williams, a teenage girl who accuses many women in the town of witchcraft.
The Crucible is the Carlow native’s first time performing on stage.
