Emmett Scanlan has opened up about his wedding day in a hilarious social media post.
The Dubliner married his long-term love Claire Cooper, who he met on soap Hollyoaks, in New York city over Christmas surrounded by friends and family.
Taking to Instagram, the AD: The Bible Continues actor shared a shot from their wedding day.
“The worlds smallest handcuff on my finger with the worlds prettiest cell mate by my side @claire_e_cooper,” he wrote.
“That’s not to say marriage is like prison…It’s not…You can still have sex in prison…#Scanlans.”
Talking to Hello! Magazine, the 36-year-old admitted their special day was filled “with such love”.
“It’s something I’ll never forget. Everyone got behind the wedding with such love that it was overwhelming at times,” he said.
