Kate Middleton has sent a sweet letter to the Irish Guards amid her ongoing cancer treatment.
In March, the Princess of Wales announced that she is undergoing treatment for cancer, which was discovered after she underwent abdominal surgery in January.
Following her diagnosis, the Princess took a step back from her public duties, and it’s currently unknown when she will return to work.
Kate sent the letter to the Irish Guards ahead of this year’s Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour.
Last month, Buckingham Palace confirmed the Princess won’t attend the major event amid her treatment.
They took to X to share their thanks to the Princess of Wales as they wish her well in her recovery.
They wrote: The Irish Guards were deeply touched to receive a letter from our Colonel, Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales this morning.”

The letter read: “I wanted to write to you to let you know how proud I am of the entire regiment ahead of the Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour.”
“I appreciate everyone Trooping the Colour this year has been practising for months and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drill are immaculate.”
“Being your Colonel remains an honour and I’m very sorry that I’m unable to make the salute at this year’s Colonel’s review. Please pass on my apologies to the whole regiment.”
“I do hope that I’m able to represent you all once again very soon. Please send my very best wishes and good luck to all involved. Quis separabit, Colonel Catherine.”
Kate became Colonel of the Irish Guards on St Patrick’s Day 2023.
Recent updates on when Kate may return to public work have been given, as the Palace has told Us Weekly: “We have been really clear that [Kate] needs the space and the privacy to recover right now.”
“She will return to work when she has had the green light from doctors.”
However, a source also claimed to the outlet that Kate “may never come back in the role that people saw her in before.”
But these claims have since been branded “unfair and untrue” by a royal insider.
The insider told Harper’s Bazar: “There is no information about Kate’s ‘return’ because the focus at this moment in time is 100% on her health—to suggest she won’t return to her role is unfair and untrue.”
“Conversations of that nature are just not being had. When the time is right, she will resume her work.”
They continued to say that Kate is “in good spirits,” adding, “She is focused on her health and family.”
