Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s secret £2.5m home in the UK ‘revealed’

While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former UK home was Frogmore Cottage, it has since been revealed that they had another residence.

According to the UK Mirror, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a two-year lease on a £2.5m property in the Cotswolds.

The couple moved into the plush home while Frogmore Cottage was undergoing renovations.

The cost of the renovations, estimated at £2.4m, was controversially covered by taxpayers through the Sovereign Grant, but the Duke and Duchess paid this money back after they stepped down as senior working royals in 2020.

Harry and Meghan’s temporary home in the Cotswolds was made up of a main farmhouse, an additional two-bedroom cottage, and a converted barn.

A friend of the Sussexes said they “loved walking the dogs there and entertaining their friends in complete solitude” – including celebrity pals like George and Amal Clooney.

The couple moved back into Frogmore Cottage when their renovations were complete, and were allowed to keep the property as their UK residence after they stepped back from their royal duties.

However, the pair were evicted from the property by King Charles last January – following the release of Harry’s bombshell memoir ‘Spare’.

At the time, a Sussex representative said: “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”
