TOWIE legend returns to show’s brand new series after seven years

TOWIE legend Lauren Goodger is set to return to the brand new series of the show, seven years after she left in 2016.

The original The Only Way Is Essex cast member first appeared on the show in season one before departing the show back in 2016.

The new series is set to premiere on March 24.

Last year it was reported that Lauren had been approached to return to the show.

She announced in December 2023 she was returning to the hit reality TV show.

Lauren was part of the original 2010 line-up for the show, which focused on her long-term relationship with Mark Wright, and left in 2012 after their break up in series six.

Since her time on the show, Lauren has had two children with ex-boyfriend Charles Drury – Larose, 2, and Lorena who sadly passed away just after birth in 2022.

Lauren’s ex Charles was accused of attacking the TOWIE star on August 4, 2022 – the day after the former couple buried their baby daughter Lorena.

Charles, who appeared before London’s Snaresbrook Crown Court last July, is also charged with engaging in “controlling or coercive behaviour” against Lauren between August 1, 2020 and August 5, 2022.

The indictment claimed he “engaged in behaviour towards Lauren Goodger that was controlling or coercive which had a serious effect” on her.

It alleged Charles “caused Lauren Goodger to fear, on at least two occasions, that violence will be used against” her, “at a time when he knew or ought to have known that the behaviour” would have a “serious effect” on her.

The second charge stated that he “assaulted Lauren Goodger thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm” on August 4 2022.

Charles had pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In August 2022, Lauren was reportedly taken to the hospital after the incident, which left her with a broken eye socket.

A statement issued by the Metropolitan Police at the time confirmed that a 25-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of assault.

As reported, the statement read: “Police were called at 00:37hrs on Thursday, 4 August to reports of an altercation at a residential address in Upminster, Essex. Officers attended. At the scene a woman, aged 30s, was found with facial injuries.”

“A man, aged 25, was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was taken to an east London police station and subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.”
