EXCLUSIVE! Amy Huberman reveals she has a 'dream team' celebrity cast for new movie

Amy Huberman has revealed she already has a dream cast for her first self-written movie.

The actress and author is now a fully fledged screen-writer, with her first film Bolt going into production this year.

The movie is based on her hit novel I Wished For You, and speaking to Goss.ie Amy said it will be a female led cast and she already has a dream team in her head.

“I have a dream cast, but I wouldn’t even dare to dream,” Amy said. “I have a dream team in my head, but we’re very far away from that.”

Amy hinted that Chris O’Dowd could make an appearance and insisted her close friend and Love/Hate star Ruth Bradley could be up for a role.

“Ruth is right up there, she’s a very close friend of mine and a great comedic actress. I haven’t told her yet but she’s definitely up there,” she said.

Amy has teamed up with Treasure Entertainment to make the flick – the same producers behind successful Irish comedy The Stag.

Acting friend: Amy wants Ruth Bradley to star

“They really mentored me and we spent a lot of the summer going over how to do it. It’s a very different format to obviously writing books.

“It’s different to my background even though I read hundreds of scripts.  From auditioning for stuff I read a lot so subconsciously I was taking in all the formats,” she explained.

“The working title is Bolt. It’s a female led rom-com and it’s about a woman who has commitment issues.”

Speaking at the launch of the Irish Film Board slate for 2015 Amy admitted she will be playing the lead role in the rom-com and said it was great to write such a strong female role.

“That’s the goal, which will be great fun. It’s great to be able to write for yourself, you can get very selfish in your writing,” she told Goss.ie.

“My goal is to write strong female characters and that’s the heart of it,” she added.
