It was supposed to be an incredible gig to signify her big comeback to the music industry – but Mariah Carey’s NYE performance went horribly wrong.
The US super star was centre stage ahead of the official NYE countdown in New York, when she quickly suffered technical difficulties on her backing track.
Standing in the middle of Times Square, Mariah was left red-faced as her track went off sync during her performance.
“I’m trying to be a good sport here,” Mariah said as she stood on stage waiting for her track to start working again.
While her backing dancers continued Mariah eventually stormed off stage, leaving her crew confused but eventually followed her off stage.
The crowds were not happy when the world renowned diva walked off stage, and Mariah later took to Twitter to try and move on from the incident.
“Sh*t happens,” she wrote to her 17 million followers.
