Tory Lanez sentenced to ten years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Tory Lanez has been sentenced to ten years in prison for shooting and injuring Megan Thee Stallion.

The rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was convicted of three felonies: assault with a semi-automatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence in December.

During the trial in Los Angeles, the jury heard that the 31-year-old had fired a gun at the back of Megan’s feet and shouted for her to dance, after she left an SUV during a fight in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020.

During her testimony, Megan recalled: “I’m in shock. I’m scared. I hear the gun going off and I can’t believe he’s shooting at me.”

In a new statement shared after Tory’s sentencing, the Savage singer said she had “not experienced a single day of peace” since the shooting.

“Slowly but surely, I’m healing and coming back, but I will never be the same,” the 28-year-old added.

In July 2020, Megan told fans she was “grateful to be alive” after she was shot in the feet during an incident in the Hollywood Hills.

Weeks later, the 27-year-old claimed Tory was the one who pulled the trigger, after they got into an argument on the way home from a party at Kylie Jenner’s house.
