Erika Jayne has met with victims who were allegedly defrauded by her estranged husband Tom Girardi.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star filed for divorce from the 84-year-old attorney in November 2020 after 21 years of marriage.
Following the shock news of their divorce, the estranged couple were accused of embezzling $2 million in settlement funds from the families of Lion Air Flight 610 crash victims.
Erika was named in the complaint because the plaintiffs’ firm alleged that Tom embezzled the money “in order to continue funding his and Erika’s lavish Beverly Hills lifestyles.”
The former couple were also accused of using their divorce “as simply sham attempt to fraudulently protect Tom and Erika’s money from those that seek to collect on debts owed by Tom and his law firm GK.”
Erika was later dismissed from the fraud and embezzlement lawsuit, but is still facing a $50 million racketeering lawsuit and a $2.1 million “aiding and abetting” lawsuit.
The 52-year-old, who has denied having knowledge about Tom’s alleged crimes, met with some of the victims in Los Angeles on Sunday.
She told Page Six: “I came here with an open heart to listen to what’s going on, hear what happened and figure out how to be a part of how to move forward together in a way that’s beneficial for all victims.”
Tom is now living with Alzheimer’s and dementia in a memory care facility, and is under a conservatorship controlled by his brother.
