Kenneth was convicted of rape in New York in 1995 and served four years in prison.

When he and Nicki, who he started dating in 2018, moved to California in 2019, he did not register as as a sex offender within the required period of five days.

Prosecutors previously urged the judge to sentence Kenneth to further prison time, arguing that house arrest was not a severe enough punishment.

Nicki previously defended her husband via Instagram.

In 2018, the rapper told her followers: “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go off, [sic] internet, y’all can’t run my life. y’all can’t even run y’all own life.”

Nicki and Kenneth welcomed their first child together in September 2020 – a baby boy.
