New York magazine article labels Priyanka Chopra a ‘global scam artist’ before deleting the whole thing

New York magazine’s online publication The Cut, has come under huge fire, after labelling Priyanka Chopra a “global scam artist”.

The website published a bizarre article with the headline “Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s Love for Real?”.

The writer had called the Bollywood star a “scam artist” who allegedly “tricked” Nick Jonas into marriage, suggesting he only ever wanted a fling.

“That’s right: Nicholas Jonas married into a fraudulent relationship against his will this past Saturday, December the 1st, and I’ll tell you why I think so,” the article had read before it was deleted.

“All Nick wanted was a possible fling with Hollywood’s latest It Woman, but instead he wound up staring straight at a life sentence with a global scam artist.”

The piece had no evidence to back up such substantial claims, and after Priyanka’s fans got wind of the article, the writer received huge backlash.

Not only was the actress’s fans annoyed but Nick’s loved ones got involved too.

His brother Joe Jonas, and Joe’s other-half Sophie Turner, both took to Twitter to blast the piece.

Fans were quick to slam the author and the article, with many believing it was racist and sexist towards Priyanka.

The piece was later taken down, with a statement reading: “Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards. We’ve removed it and apologize.”

The pair married in very lavish ceremonies in India over the weekend.

The singer and the actress sold the photos and official video to People magazine in the  USA and HELLO! magazine in the UK and Ireland.
