Mischa Barton has apparently become the victim of “revenge porn”.
The O.C. star broke her silence on Wednesday after it emerged that a sex tape allegedly filmed without her consent is being shopped around.
At a Los Angeles press conference, Mischa said, “This is a painful situation and my absolute worst fear was realized when I learned that someone that I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments, without my consent, with hidden cameras.
“And then I learned something even worse, that someone is trying to sell these videos and make them public.”

Mischa’s lawyer Lisa Bloom confirmed they have filed a police report and obtained an emergency restraining order against the man in question, who had “a brief relationship” with the actress in the past year.
“Because Ms. Barton had dated him, we contended that she was protected under California’s laws against domestic violence, which prohibit all forms of abuse by a former intimate partner,” the lawyer said. “We consider this to be a form of domestic violence.”
Bloom said anyone attempting to sell or distribute the photos or videos will be barred by the court order and viewed “as agents” to Mischa’s ex.
The lawyer had previously shared in a statement: “There’s a name for this disgusting conduct: revenge pornography. Revenge pornography is a form of sexual assault, and it is also a crime and a civil wrong in California. And we will not stand for it.”
