Lili Reinhart has slammed celebs who admitted to “starving themselves” for the Met Gala.
The actress, 25, took to her Instagram Stories after attending the star-studded event in New York on Monday night to “rant” about the “stupid, harmful celebrities”.
The Riverdale star wrote: “To walk on a red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are… because you haven’t eaten carbs in the last month…all to fit in a f**king dress? So wrong. So f**ked on 100s of levels.”
Lili continued: “To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word. The ignorance is other-worldly disgusting.”
“Please stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies. I am not generally an angry person but I swear to god, the toxicity of this industry sometimes really gets to me and I have to do my little Instagram-story rants to release my rage.”
While Lili did not call out any of the celebrities by name, her rant came shortly after Kim Kardashian admitted she went on a “strict” diet before the Met to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s dress.
The reality star told Vogue Magazine: “I tried it on and it didn’t fit me. I said, ‘Give me three weeks.’ I had to lose 16 pounds down today. It was such a challenge. It was like a [movie] role. I was determined to fit [into] it.”
“I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict.”
The SKIMS founder said on the red carpet: “I haven’t had carbs or sugar in about three weeks. We’re having pizza and donut party back at the hotel [after the Met Gala].”
