Kim Kardashian has thanked her grandmother for her “wise advice”, following rumours that the reality star and her husband Kanye West are looking to divorce.
The mother-of-four took to Instagram on Sunday to pay a touching birthday tribute to her grandmother MJ, just days after she acknowledged that her husband is in the middle of a serious bipolar episode.
“Happy Birthday to the one and only MJ,” she shared, “Your grace and calmness cannot be matched. Your hard work is so inspiring.”
“Thank you for your wise advice and knowledge.”
“I love you so much…you are the best grandma in the world,” she added.
The news comes just days after the 39-year-old released a statement addressing Kanye’s recent behaviour, after he sparked concern when he broke down at a presidential campaign rally on Monday and shared some bizarre statements on Twitter.
“As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how complicated and painful it is to understand,” she wrote.
“Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behaviour know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor…I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this.”
Kanye concerned fans all over the world after he claimed Kim was trying to “divorce” him as well as have him institutionalised for his mental health issues, in a string of since-deleted tweets.
The rapper then publicly apologised to his wife for the shocking claims: “I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter,” he wrote.
“I did not cover her like she has covered me. To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me,” he added.
An insider told E!News that the couple are “spending time apart for now.”
“[Kim] is still in Los Angeles and [Kanye] is staying in Wyoming. He hasn’t seen the kids in a week. Kim has been trying to fly to Wyoming to get Kanye help and he is refusing it.”
The source also noted that “there are no serious talks of divorce yet,” however “Kim has brought it up several times, but she isn’t planning on filing until Kanye stabilizes.”
“If anything, Kanye would most likely be the one to abruptly file for divorce. Kim is not planning on leaving him during a time like this when he is vulnerable.”
