Kim Kardashian broke down in tears as she finally addressed her ex-husband Kanye West’s “damaging” behaviour during the season three premiere of The Kardashians.
In the episode, which is available to stream on Disney+, the 42-year-old got emotional as she discussed her ex’s online attacks against her, her now-ex Pete Davidson, and her mother Kris Jenner.
During a confessional, the mother-of-four explained: “There’s been a lot going on with Kanye right now. Things are going on in the media — radio shows and interviews.”
“I think at this point I just assume everything I text Kanye is going to be put on the internet,” she continued.
“I think I can handle anything. I just get really heartbroken for my mom, that she has to deal with so much.”
Speaking to Kris during the episode, Kim told her: “I spent my whole morning having an anxiety attack. I felt like I just couldn’t breathe all day. You know when you just are on the verge of tears, it’s like your throat is about to cry? That’s how I felt all day.”
“Even through all the craziness of all the things Kanye says about us, I never comment. I never post, like, he has made up the most insane narrative about you and the tape and we stay silent. We stay silent through all the lies and the stuff.”
“All of his shenanigans – I don’t even know what the f**k to call it – is gonna be far more damaging to the kids one day than my tape will ever be.”
“And I have to sit here and not say anything ever because I know one day my kids will appreciate that and I know that, like, is the best thing for them.”
The SKIMS founder said no matter what happens she always paints Kanye in a positive light around their four kids – North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
“And by the way, I’m the one where shit can be going down and I get in the car and every day the kids want to blast Dad’s music,” she told Kris.
“I’m like, ‘He’s the best! Yeah!’ And I put it on and we’re singing along and inside I’m like dying because I will be his biggest cheerleader to them forever, and one day, when they see for themselves, I’ll answer whatever they want me to, but it’s just… a lot.”
Kim also slammed Kanye for saying he would always be her “protector”, as she explained: “The one who does interviews saying they’re my ‘forever protector’ is the one hurting me the most.”
Breaking down in tears, the reality star stressed she would be “stuck with this” for the rest of her life.
“I don’t want to be a part of this narrative, and it’s like, when is this ever going to end? It’s just always so intense,” she cried.
“I don’t want to engage in a public feud with him.”
Kim also said she wished she could “lose it” and have a bad day “just once”, but she can’t because no one else can “get their s**t together”.
