Kim Cattrall has been cast in another major series reboot, after snubbing the Sex and the City revival.
According to PEOPLE magazine, the 65-year-old has been cast in Hulu’s upcoming series How I Met Your Father.
A spinoff of the popular How I Met Your Mother, the actress will play a future version of Hilary Duff’s lead character Sophie.

Similar to the original series, Kim’s character will tell her son how she met his dad in a recurring role.
Hilary Duff confirmed the casting news on Instagram, by sharing an old photo of her and Kim.
She captioned the post: “When @kimcattrall said yes I screamed. Now can we please get a better pic than this one I dug up from the deep web 😂 @himyfonhulu.”

The show’s synopsis reads: “Sophie (Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2021, where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”
The series will also star Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran and Suraj Sharma.
The news comes after Kim snubbed the chance to reprise her role as Samantha Jones in HBO’s upcoming Sex and the City revival series ‘And Just Like That…’
While Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are reprising their respective roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes in the show – Kim won’t be a part of it.
Kim has had a long-running feud with Sarah Jessica – which has been well-documented in the press.
Back in 2017, Kim spoke about their feud on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, and claimed Sarah “could have been nicer”.
“This is really where I take to task the people from Sex And The City and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker, is that I think she could have been nicer. I really think she could have been nicer. I don’t know what her issue is,” she said at the time.
“The thing that still bothers me is this feeling of being in some way made to be the baddie. I never asked for any money, I never asked for any projects, to be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous.”
Months later, their feud hit headlines once again in 2018, when Kim slammed SJP for reaching out to her in the wake of her brother’s death.
After the actress announced her brother’s passing on Instagram, Sarah Jessica commented: “Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx.”
In a shocking move, the 65-year-old fired back by dedicating a post to SJP, and wrote: “I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker.”

Sex and the City originally ran from 1998–2004, and was followed by two blockbuster movies in 2008 and 2010.
