Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s ‘horrible family tragedy’ revealed as she pulls out of joint tour

Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s “horrible family tragedy” has been revealed, after she suddenly pulled out of their joint tour in Asia.

According to TMZ, their son’s nanny has died unexpectedly, prompting the singer to fly back to California immediately.

It’s unknown if their two-year-old son Rennie was on tour with them, or at home in the US.

On Friday, Katharine had sparked concern when she announced that she would be missing the final two shows of their tour due to a “horrible tragedy in our family”.

At the time, she wrote on Instagram: “Dearest Jakarta fans, it’s with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final two shows of our Asia run.”

“David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us need to get back home to our family.

“Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all,” she added. “Love Katharine.”

Katharine and David have been married since 2019, and welcomed their son Rennie in 2021.

David is also father to five daughters – Allison, 52, Amy, 49, Sara, 41, Erin, 40, and Jordan, 36 – from previous relationships.
