Hilaria Baldwin shows her support for husband Alec after accidental shooting on set of film

Hilaria Baldwin has showed her support for her husband Alec after the accidental shooting on set of his film Rust.

Last month, the actor accidentally misfired a prop gun on the set of his new movie in New Mexico, killing the film’s cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday following the tragedy, Hilaria shared a photo of her holding her husband’s hand, and wrote: “I love you and I’m here❤️”

Hilaria also addressed the incident in a statement last week, saying: “My heart is with Halyna. Her husband. Her son. Their family and loved ones. And my Alec.”

“It’s said, ‘there are no words’ because it’s impossible to express the shock and the heartache of such a tragic accident. Heartbreak. Loss. Support.”

Meanwhile Alec tweeted: “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours.”

“I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.”

“My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

Officers were called to the Bonanza Creek Ranch in New Mexico, where the incident occurred, at about 1.50 pm on Thursday, October 21 after receiving the 911 call.

Halyna, 42, was transported via helicopter to University of New Mexico Hospital, but was later pronounced dead. Joel, 48, was treated for his injuries at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, and was later released.

Authorities said assistant director Dave Halls had handed the weapon to Alec and announced “cold gun”, indicating it was safe to use.

The incident is currently being investigated by police officials, but no charges have been filed.
